Victory is a giant hosta whose green leaves are finished with a cream edge. It has good slug resistance and copes with more sun than most hostas.

Victory carries the Hosta of the Year title for 2015, awarded by American hosta growers. Give it room as a specimen or at the back of a border, where it becomes the centre of attention. See it alongside the other Hosta of the Year winners.

At a glance

  • Leaf colour: green centre, cream margin
  • Size: giant
  • Light: partial shade to sun
  • Good for: specimen planting, the back of a border
  • Features: good slug resistance; tolerates more sun than most hostas
  • Award: Hosta of the Year 2015
  • Pack: 2 plants of the same variety, from the Netherlands
  • Arrives as: bare-root plants
  • Shipping: 1 March to 1 July; order all year round

Planting and care

  • Plant Victory about 100 cm from its neighbours; a giant clump needs that space.
  • In a sunny position, Victory needs regular watering so the soil never dries out.
  • Prepare the ground with plenty of humus and keep the crown level with the soil surface.
  • Victory has good slug resistance; give the young shoots a quick check in spring.

Our hosta planting guide covers every step, from soil to winter.

Covered by our 100% growing guarantee: if a plant does not grow although you followed our care advice, we replace or refund it.
