This policy explains which personal data Funckia collects when you visit www.funckia.com, place an order or sign up for our emails, why we use it and what your rights are. We process personal data in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Last updated: October 2026.
Data controller

What data we collect
- Order data: name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, the products you order and the payment status. We do not see or store your full card or bank details; payments are handled by our payment providers.
- Account data: if you create an account, your login details and order history.
- Communication: the content of emails, contact forms and messages you send us.
- Newsletter: your email address and subscription preferences.
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser, device type, pages viewed and how you use the website, collected with cookies and similar technologies.
Why we use your data and on what legal basis
- Processing and delivering your order, sending order and shipping updates, handling returns and guarantee claims — performance of the contract.
- Answering your questions and customer service — performance of the contract or our legitimate interest in helping you.
- Accounting and legal obligations, such as tax rules — legal obligation.
- Preventing fraud and protecting the shop — legitimate interest.
- Measuring and improving the website and showing relevant advertising — your consent in the cookie banner, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Sending our newsletter — your consent, or our legitimate interest if you are already a customer and have not objected. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share your data with
We only share your data with partners that help us run the shop, and only as far as needed:
- Shopify, which hosts the online shop and checkout (Shopify privacy policy);
- payment providers, such as Shopify Payments, which handle your payment;
- parcel carriers, which receive your name, address and contact details to deliver your order;
- analytics and advertising services, such as Google, only with your consent (Google privacy policy);
- our email service provider, to send the newsletter;
- authorities, if the law requires us to provide data.
We do not sell your personal data.
Data outside the European Union
Some providers, such as Shopify and Google, may process data outside the European Economic Area. In that case we rely on the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep your data
- Order data and invoices: 7 years, as required by Dutch tax law.
- Account data: as long as your account is active, or until you ask us to delete it.
- Customer service messages: up to 2 years after the last contact.
- Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe.
- Analytics data: according to the settings of the analytics tool, no longer than 26 months.
Cookies and your choices
Functional cookies are needed for the shop and checkout to work and do not require consent. We only place analytics and marketing cookies if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time via Your Privacy Choices or in your browser settings.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise your rights, email info@dutch-bulbs.com. We reply within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or with the data protection authority in your own country.
Security
The website and checkout use an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and we protect your data against loss and unauthorised access with appropriate technical and organisational measures. Within our company, only people who need customer data for their work have access to it.
Links to other websites
Our website and emails may contain links to other websites, such as Trusted Shops or our other shops Amarylia and Peonita. Their own privacy policies apply there.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The version published on this page applies.
