Narrow leaves, green with a white margin, give Stiletto a fine, linear look. This small hosta forms a neat clump that sits well at the front of a planting.

Use it to edge a path, tuck it between stones in a rock garden or give it a pot on a shady terrace. Other compact choices are in our miniature and small hostas.

Planting and care

  • About 30 cm between plants is enough for Stiletto; in a pot, choose one with drainage holes.
  • Stiletto likes shade or partial shade; keep its white-edged leaves out of strong afternoon sun.
  • Potted plants dry out faster, so water Stiletto regularly in summer.
  • In a pot or by a path, Stiletto is easy to inspect for slugs and snails when the shoots appear in spring.

Our hosta planting guide covers every step, from soil to winter.

Covered by our 100% growing guarantee: if a plant does not grow although you followed our care advice, we replace or refund it.

Hosta Stiletto at a glance

Hosta Stiletto: questions & answers

How big does Hosta Stiletto grow?

Stiletto stays small, so about 30 cm per plant is enough; pots, rock gardens and path edges all suit it.

What do the leaves of Hosta Stiletto look like?

They are narrow, green with a white margin, which gives Stiletto a fine texture.

Can Hosta Stiletto grow in a pot?

Yes, Stiletto is well suited to a pot on a shady terrace. The pot needs drainage holes, and regular watering keeps the compost from drying out.
