They are an unusual lemony yellow, which is what sets Miracle Lemony apart. The leaves are plain green.
As a small to medium plant, Miracle Lemony needs 30–50 cm of space; that suits a path edging, the front row of a border or a single pot.
In shade or partial shade, in moist soil rich in humus. A place beside a path lets you see its yellow flowers up close.
Planting
Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Dig plenty of compost or well-rotted manure into the whole bed before planting: it helps clay drain and sandy soil hold water. Avoid ground that stays waterlogged, mulch every spring and feed lightly, because good soil matters more than fertiliser.

Design & companions
Hostas make an excellent ground cover for shade: planted closely, their leaves meet and suppress weeds from late spring until autumn. Choose medium-sized, vigorous varieties, plant them a little closer than in a border, mulch the gaps until the leaves close, and expect full cover after about three seasons.

Planting
Yes, hostas can grow under trees, but the soil there is dry as well as shady, so plan for water. Choose thick-leaved or plain green varieties, plant small divisions in pockets between the roots without piling soil over them, mulch well and water deeply whenever it is dry, all through the first growing season.
