Twisted leaves set Gravity Rocks apart. This compact hosta is a tetraploid sport of Hosta 'June', with a yellow centre and a blue margin on every leaf, and it has good slug resistance.

Small to medium in size, it belongs at the front of a shady border, along a path or in a pot, where the twist in the leaves can be seen up close. Some morning sun keeps the yellow bright. Varieties that share this strength are collected in our slug-resistant hostas.

At a glance

  • Leaf colour: yellow centre, blue margin
  • Size: small to medium
  • Light: partial shade; some morning sun, no hot afternoon sun
  • Good for: borders, edging, pots
  • Features: twisted leaves; good slug resistance
  • Pack: 2 plants of the same variety, from the Netherlands
  • Arrives as: bare-root plants
  • Shipping: 1 March to 1 July; order all year round

Planting and care

  • Plant 30–50 cm apart at the front of a bed, or one Gravity Rocks to a pot with drainage holes.
  • Keep the twisted leaves out of hot afternoon sun; morning light is fine.
  • A potted plant needs regular watering; never let the compost dry out completely.
  • Good slug resistance helps, yet the young shoots of Gravity Rocks are worth a check in spring.

Our hosta planting guide covers every step, from soil to winter.

Covered by our 100% growing guarantee: if a plant does not grow although you followed our care advice, we replace or refund it.
