Each leaf of Color Glory has a cream centre inside a blue margin, and in low light that pale middle seems to shine. The plant grows medium to large, a hosta with enough presence to hold the middle of a border.

Plant it where a shady border needs body, or give it a large container on a patio that is shaded in the afternoon. Cream and blue together keep the look cool; for more leaves in blue tones, see our blue hostas.

At a glance

  • Leaf colour: cream centre, blue margin

Planting and care

  • Space Color Glory 50–75 cm apart, the wider distance if you want each clump to stand on its own.
  • Plant Color Glory in shade or partial shade, sheltered from the afternoon heat.
  • A large pot for Color Glory needs drainage holes and good potting soil; water it regularly, as containers dry out faster.
  • When the new shoots of Color Glory appear in spring, watch for slugs and snails.

Our hosta planting guide covers every step, from soil to winter.

Covered by our 100% growing guarantee: if a plant does not grow although you followed our care advice, we replace or refund it.

Hosta Color Glory: questions & answers

What colour is Hosta Color Glory?

Cream in the centre and blue at the margin. The pale middle of Color Glory shows up clearly when the light is low.

How far apart should I plant Hosta Color Glory?

Allow 50–75 cm. Color Glory is a medium to large hosta and needs that room to fill out in a border.

Can Hosta Color Glory be grown in a pot?

Yes, Color Glory suits a large pot with holes in the base. Water it often in summer and keep it in shade or partial shade, clear of the hot afternoon sun.
