Red stems carry the cupped, slightly corrugated yellow leaves of Lemon Snap, a medium-sized hosta with plenty of texture. The bright foliage lifts the darker corners of a garden.

A large pot brings the red stems closer to eye level; in a border or along a path, a group of plants makes textured ground cover. A little morning sun keeps the yellow at its brightest. Our medium hostas include more plants of this size.

Planting and care

  • Plant Lemon Snap about 50 cm apart, in soil enriched with compost.

  • Water at soil level during dry spells, and add mulch to hold moisture.
  • Look for slugs and snails on the young shoots before the cupped leaves of Lemon Snap open.

Our hosta planting guide covers every step, from soil to winter.

Covered by our 100% growing guarantee: if a plant does not grow although you followed our care advice, we replace or refund it.
