Paul's Glory has gold leaves framed by a blue-green margin, bright in the middle and cool at the edge. It was Hosta of the Year in 1999, voted by American hosta growers, and this medium to large hosta still earns a place in a shady border.

It fills its part of a border generously and grows well in a large pot. Shade keeps the blue-green margin at its best. Its fellow award winners are listed in our Hosta of the Year collection.

Planting and care

  • Plant Paul's Glory 50–75 cm apart, so each clump can spread.
  • The more shade, the longer the blue lasts; partial shade also suits it.
  • In a large pot, check the drainage holes are clear and water regularly.
  • Slugs and snails like the new shoots of Paul's Glory, so protect them as they appear in spring.

Our hosta planting guide covers every step, from soil to winter.

Covered by our 100% growing guarantee: if a plant does not grow although you followed our care advice, we replace or refund it.
