Yellow from edge to edge, the leaves of Mojito carry light into the shade. This medium-sized hosta keeps a dim corner looking open and fresh.

A line of Mojito brightens the edge of a path, a single plant lights up a large pot, and a group spreads into a sheet of yellow ground cover. Ferns and astilbes, or other hostas, make calm partners for it. Find more bright foliage among our yellow and gold hostas.

Planting and care

  • Plant Mojito about 50 cm apart, in a row by a path or a loose group.
  • A position with morning sun and afternoon shade keeps the yellow of Mojito at its brightest.
  • Work humus into the soil before planting so it holds moisture but drains, and keep the crown level with the ground.
  • After spring rain, go out in the evening and pick slugs and snails off the new growth of Mojito.

Our hosta planting guide covers every step, from soil to winter.

Covered by our 100% growing guarantee: if a plant does not grow although you followed our care advice, we replace or refund it.

Hosta Mojito: questions & answers

How much light does Hosta Mojito need?

Partial shade is right for Mojito. Morning sun is welcome and brightens the yellow; hot afternoon sun is not.

How far apart should I plant Hosta Mojito?

About 50 cm. That spacing works for a border, an edging along a path or a group of Mojito grown as ground cover.

Can Hosta Mojito grow in a pot?

Yes, a large container with holes in the base suits Mojito well. Keep it watered through dry spells, because compost in a pot loses moisture faster than a border.
